Albert F. Herbert, 87, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.

Albert, the son of John W. and Fola (Chandler) Herbert, was born in Willard, MO, on September 14, 1930. Albert was married to Ida Mae Pridgen Herbert for 45 years before Ida's passing in 1994. In 1996 Albert and Linda were united in marriage and they have shared the last 21 years together.

Albert was a life-long area resident. He graduated from Willard High in 1948 and worked for Shelter Insurance for 33 years. Albert loved his community and was very active in serving. He was president of Greene Hills Country Club, Lions Club, and Willard Board of Education, where he was president for 3 of the 9 years he served there. Albert also loved singing, golfing, and Cardinal baseball. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Albert is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; two daughters, Cathy Hill and husband Stephen of Willard, Beverly McCowan and husband Kim of Springfield; two sons, Kenny Herbert of Willard, Keith Herbert and partner Bryan Reed of CA; four step-children; Bob Moore and wife Kris, Heidi Mills, Tyler Moore and Linda, Josh Moore and wife Trish; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 grandsons; 1 sister, Elsie Snider; 2 brothers Clarence and Wilford Herbert.
Visitation will be Friday, August 17, 2018, from noon - until service time Willard First Baptist Church, Willard, MO. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Albert's name to The Parkinson's Association and may be left at the funeral home.
