Alda Coble, the daughter of George and Ola Choate Alexander was born on August 24, 1918. She passed away May 9, 2015 at 4:40 A.M. in the Willard Care Center, following an extended illness. Her age was 96 years, 8 months and 15 days.
She was born in Greene County at Ash Grove, Mo. and was a life long resident of the Walnut Grove and Ash Grove area. She was a graduate of Ash Grove High School in 1936. Alda became a school teacher, Sunday school teacher and a dedicated Mom and homemaker. She loved her Lord, family, church, music, poetry and sewing. She was a wonderful wife, Mom, grandma and granny-great. Alda was a member of Concord Baptist Church, near Walnut Grove.
Alda Alexander and Hubert Coble were united in marriage on April 19, 1943. To this union two children were born. Together they were privileged to share 67 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Coble on June 21, 2010; her parents, George and Ola Alexander; two brothers: William and Glen Alexander; three sisters: Georgia Fortner, Eva McGee, June Northington; and a great-grandson Miles Lombardi.
She is survived by: two children, David and Sharon Coble of Greenfield, Donna and Bob Dodson of Walnut Grove; one brother, John Alexander of Columbia, MO.; four sisters: Wynona Haines of Appleton City, MO., Dorsey Detienne of St. Charles, Mo., Joan Fries of Ash Grove, Mo., Mary Porter of O'Fallon, Mo.; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; fifteen step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Wilson Brim Daniel Chapel, Ash Grove, with Revs. David Coble and Bob Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in Ash Grove Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Tuesday evening May 12, 2015 from 7-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
