Ann Meredith
Ferguson
March 3, 1937 – June 28, 2024
Ann Meredith Ferguson passed away at the age of 87 on Friday, June 28, 2024 following an extended illness. Meredith was born on March 3, 1937 in Pueblo, Colorado. Her family moved to Missouri shortly after her birth, where Meredith attended school in St. Louis before moving to Springfield. Meredith graduated from Springfield HS (now Central) and then earned a Bachelor's Degree from SMSU (now Missouri State University). While at college, Meredith met Bob Ferguson and they were married on August 29, 1956. The couple moved to Willard, MO, where they raised their three children; Susanna, Jill, and Rob. Bob and Meredith shared over 56 years of marriage before his death in September of 2012.
Meredith was a member of the Willard Renew Church and a member of the Dorcas Sewing Circle group, sewing and donating over 3,000 baby quilts for Newborns in Need along with other items. She worked as a postal clerk for many years at the Walnut Grove post office and at the Willard post office. Meredith loved reading, gardening, going out to lunch with friends, biking, bird watching, old movies, and musicals.
Meredith was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Vera Bryant and Clarence Vernon Oakes; husband Robert (Bob) Lewis Ferguson; and son-in-law, Stacy Winters. She is survived by her children; Susanna (Steve) Hill, Jill Winters (Daniel Wilson), and Rob (Lori) Ferguson; her grandchildren; Matt (Desiree) McQuerter, Chris McQuerter, Nathan (Chandler) Pearl, William (Sarai) Pearl, Elizabeth (Jacob) Watson, Hannah (Kenneth) Gorman, Jake (Amy) Hill, and Amanda Hill; and her Great-Grandsons Payton and Braylon Hill and Colton and Cayden McQuerter; and her furry, four-legged friend, Tori.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Willard Renew Church, Willard, MO, with private interment in Wesley Cemetery, Willard, MO.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given in Meredith's memory to: Humane Society of Missouri.
