Archie "Ray" Lee, 74, of Walnut Grove, passed into glory, surrounded by his loved ones, on Sunday, March 10, 2019.

Ray, the son of Archie W. and Mildred Lee, was born in San Angelo, TX, on March 21, 1944. Ray and Patricia Lee were united in marriage on June 10, 1972. They shared over 46 devoted years together.

Ray faithfully served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart with 2 Stars. He went on to work for Union Pacific Railroad and retired in the Walnut Grove community. Ray was a man who was always willing to help, had a positive attitude, and would never give up. He had a strong will and could teach himself to do just about anything. Ray liked to get in fun political debates and to get a rise out of his opponent. He loved reading, especially reading his Bible and drinking coffee. Ray loved being outside on his land, gardening and mowing. Ray enjoyed playing chess with all of his family and he particularly enjoyed beating them. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Ray is survived by his wife, Patricia, of the home; children, Matt Lee and wife Roxie of Linn, MO, Mark Lee and wife Amanda of HI, Tricia Lee of Walnut Grove, Katie Bennett and husband Dakota of Springfield; grandchildren, Katie, Matthew, Karlie, Gavin, Dominic, Elijah, Julianna, Josh, Jayden, Xander; sister, Anita Stevens of WY; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eugene Lee.

Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2019 from 9:00AM until service time at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, MO. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00AM, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
