Bernadine (Demick) Reid, 77 longtime Willard resident, passed away Friday evening, April 24, 2015 in Georgetown Texas Assisted Living following an extended illness.
Bernadine, the daughter of Bernard Roman and Mary Alice (Fisher) Demick, was born in Anna, Illinois, January 3, 1938. Bernadine was a flight attendant and instructor for TWA Airlines for many years.
She was a faithful and active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Springfield, Mo. She was a former resident of the Kansas City area, moving to the Willard/Walnut Grove areas in 1977. She relocated to Texas in 2008 to be near her family.
Bernadine Demick and James Reid (TWA Pilot) were united in marriage January 20, 1974. Together they were privileged to share over 27 years. Jim preceded her in death November 12, 2001. Also, preceding her were her parents, sister Mary Alice Demick and her faithful companion "Scooter" her dog.
She survived by her sister, Shirley and husband Jim Teegarden of Georgetown, Texas, two nieces, a grand nephew, two grand nieces and two great grand nieces.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Springfield, with Father Denis Dougherty O.S.B. with interment following in Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Mo. under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, Mo.
Rosary and prayer service with visitation to follow on Wednesday evening, April 29, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wilson Brim Eaniel Chapel, Walnut Grove, Mo.
The family wishes to thank all of Bernie's friends and neighbors in the Willard/Springfield areas for the support they provided to Bernie during her last years in Willard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bernadine's name to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
