Betty L. Gilmore, 82, of Springfield, passed away, Saturday, March 4, 2017.

Betty the daughter of Bert Jacob and Freida Esther (Fortner) Sappington, was born in Walnut Grove, MO, on June, 10, 1934.

Betty loved to read and travel.  She traveled the country and had visited all 50 states.  Hawaii, being one of her favorites, she traveled there on several occasions.   Betty was a wonderful mother and proudly raised her four sons.  Her strong faith helped her through that journey.  Betty loved helping others and making them feel special.  She looked at her family as a treasured investment and wanted to spend as much time as possible with them, especially her children and grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents.

Betty is survived by her four sons, Rick Gilmore and wife Vanessa, Steven Gilmore and wife Pamela, David Gilmore and wife Debbie, Jeff Gilmore and wife Debbie; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill Sappington and wife Mona, Roy Allen Sappington and wife Diane, Wanda Smith and husband Dearld, Linda Allhands and husband Gene, Joyce Welch and husband Leroy; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Visitation will be 10:00AM until service time, March 9, 2017 at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, MO.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow at Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, MO.
