Beverly Ann
Trantham
June 8, 1948 – May 6, 2018
Beverly Ann Carey was born on June 8, 1948 to Darrell and Donna Carey in Portland, Oregon. Darrell was in Portland for a job with the railroad. Donna did not like the rainy weather in Oregon, so at 3 weeks of age, Beverly was carried on a pillow in the family car back to Nebraska.
Beverly was soon to meet her brother, Larry and two sisters, Diane and Carolyn. They greatly enjoyed living in Palisade, Nebraska with lots of family to love.
Little did the Careys know their girl would grow to travel a million miles in this world, living in several Nebraska towns, Springfield and Bolivar, Missouri, Germany (with Allan in military service) and settling finally in Willard on the Trantham family farm in 1969.
She was married in 1967 to Allan Trantham and they share a million memories together, including the birth of their six children, Deborah (deceased), Lynn, Wendy, Trudy, Greg and Brad. They lived in the same farm house for 44 years and have had the same phone number for 48 years.
This Trantham family of seven travelled millions of miles in the Roach Coach (family station wagon) for baseball, softball, basketball, band performances, church services and school events. While they never attempted to fit a million kids into the Roach Coach, they did once have 15 people crammed in there and at least a million laughs came with the miles together.
While on the farm Beverly cooked a million meals, milked a million cows, fed a million calves, picked up a million eggs and canned at least a million quarts of green beans, corn, tomatoes and other homegrown vegetables.
In March, 1987 Beverly began working at Walmart #86 where she greeted a million people, unloaded a million boxes, counted a million movies, shared a million laughs with her co-workers and built a million life-long friendships. She began as a cashier and served in the fabric and men's departments and general merchandise receiving for a total of 31 years of service, all at the same Walmart. (Randy Calhoun adds she might have spent $1 million at that Walmart).
Beverly received a million blessings with her membership at Lone Star Baptist Church. Her life and ministry touched a million lives as the WMU director, Girls in Action director and activity with LifeBuilders Ministries. She and Allan travelled a million international miles in mission trips to Lesotho, Africa and Nicaragua. Locally they were blessed to be part of a missions team to clean up Hurricane Katrina damage in Mississippi and tornado destruction in Tuttle, Oklahoma.
Beverly greatly enjoyed a timeshare membership with Allan that meant they stayed in some wonderfully comfortable resorts in Sedona and Phoenix, Arizona, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, Yellowstone National Park, The House on the Rock, Wisconsin, and even here in Branson, Missouri.
Perhaps the greatest joy in Beverly's life was her 13 grandchildren. She loved to connect with cousins at the Fisher Family Reunions where she was happy to share photos of her grandchildren that made her cousins a million shades of green with envy.
In March, 2017 she was found with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Cancer won the earthly battle on Sunday, May 6, 2018 when she was finally completely healed and met her Savior face to face. She had made the most important decision of her life to accept Jesus as her Savior many years ago.
While she wasn't financially a millionaire, she clearly was a millionaire in the things that matter most.
We have cried a million tears but are so thankful for the time we have had from the diagnosis to this day of goodbye. Many precious friends and family members were able to come visit and say goodbye. Allan and Beverly celebrated 51 years of marriage with family and friends on April 15, 2018. She even was strong enough to celebrate her retirement from Walmart after 31 years with many friends and co-workers. It was a wonderful celebration. We are abundantly blessed.
Visitation will be Friday, May 11, 2018 from 5:30PM-8:00PM at Lone Star Baptist Church, Willard, MO. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00AM at the church with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Life Builders Ministries, Lone Star Baptist Church Called to Care, Inc., or Gideon's International and can be left at the funeral home.
