Bruce W. Crockett, 74, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020.
Bruce, the son of Roy and Mary (Holdcraft) Crockett, was born in San Diego, CA, on June 12, 1945.
Bruce enjoyed life to the fullest and loved being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed sporting events, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals, fishing, and race cars. Bruce was an avid Missouri scratchers player and he often shared his winnings with his family. He particularly loved when was able to enjoy his grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing their sports. Bruce loved being able to spend time with them. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Bruce is survived by his children, Susan Cantrell and husband Ernie of Springfield, Scott Crockett and wife Sheila of Republic, Bruce Crockett Jr. of TX; 6 grandchildren, Meleah, Tanner, Hannah, Ethan, Kyle, Hanna; 2 great grandchildren, Catalina, Rose; stepchildren, Lorie Campbell and husband Terry of Springfield, Darin Tummons of Neosho, Paul Tummons of Springfield, Libby Cooksey and husband Dennis of Walnut Grove; 10 step-grandchildren; 32 step-great grandchildren; stepmother, Dorothy Crockett-Alderman of IL; stepbrothers, Greg Crockett of IL, Mike Crockett and wife Cindi of FL; many other family and friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Becky Crockett; and step-daughter, Evie Mae Stevens.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions:
Bruce will lie in state at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO, Friday, May 8, 2020 from noon-5:00PM. Friends may come by to pay their respects. Graveside services will be 11:00AM, Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Willard, MO. Graveside services are open to the public, but please follow the COVID-19 guidelines of social distancing.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Bruce's name to Greene County Humane Society and can be left or mailed the funeral home, PO Box 217, Ash Grove, MO 65604.
