Obituary

Frederick "Butch" Wildermuth, 80 of Willard, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. He was born on January 23, 1944, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Frederick Christian and Claris Madlyn (Ruff) Wildermuth. On September 25, 1966, Butch and Sharon Dodson were united in marriage and shared over 57 years together.

Butch was a 1962 graduate of LeGrand High School. He faithfully served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Butch was an active member of Willard First Baptist Church and was a deacon.  He loved to treat people to a meal and loved his lunches with "the lunch bunch." Butch enjoyed the outdoors, RVing in Arizona during the winter, and fishing. Above all, he loved his grandchildren. He loved going to their sporting events, teaching them all how to water ski, pulling them behind the boat on the tube, and trying to throw them off. Butch also enjoyed hunting with his kids and grandchildren and recently had gone on a fishing trip to Canada with them.  He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Butch is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Brian Wildermuth and wife Angela, Dana Hyde; grandchildren, Bruin Wildermuth and wife Abby, Ashton Wildermuth and fiancé Ambrose Broyles, Gunner Wildermuth, Ethan Hyde and fiancé Sarah Johnson, Emma Hyde, Elaina Hyde; great grandchild, Brixton Wildermuth; sister, Gloria Mitchell and husband Tommy; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Claris Wildermuth and aunt, Wanda Hofer.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM-7:00PM, Friday, August 16, 2024, at Willard First Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Willard First Baptist Church. A private burial will take place, at a later date, at Wesley Cemetery, Willard, MO.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Honor Flight or First Baptist Church Lottie Moon Offering and may be left with or mailed to, Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Ash Grove, MO 65604.

The family would like to thank everyone for the support and encouragement while Butch has been sick.
