Carla Kay Parnell, 54, of Willard, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018.
Carla, the daughter of Charles and Linda (Coble) Dowdy, was born in Springfield, MO, on March 1, 1964.
As a young girl Carla accepted Jesus as her savior, was baptized, and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Everton. Carla attended Everton High School and went on to attend Southwest Baptist University. She enjoyed ghost hunting, playing bingo, and going to casinos. Carla was also a huge Dallas Cowboys football fan. She loved to read and crochet. Above all, Carla loved being Nanny to her grandkids. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Carla is survived her mother, Linda Mallory of Willard; children, Christina Kroutil and husband John of Walnut Grove, Seth Newcomer and significant other Kristina, Alayna Newcomer and significant other Mike all of Springfield; 3 grandchildren, Wyatt Hicks, Sophia Hicks, Greyson Bernas; sister, Sheila Farnham of TX; 2 nieces, Leah Dowdy, Whitney Ash; 1 great niece, Makayla Dowdy; special uncle, Don Myers; half brothers and sisters of KY; cousins; other family and many friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 24, 2018, from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at 2:00PM, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO with burial to follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, MO.
