Carol Jean Simpson 69, of Niangua, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023. She was born on April 9, 1954, in Denver, CO to Luther Ferrell and Bessie (Johnston) Moody. On August 31, 1974, Carol and Bill Simpson were united in marriage and shared over 31 years together before Bill's passing in 2005.

Carol enjoyed sewing and was an amazing quilter. She also enjoyed baking. Carol loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her beloved dogs. She will be fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her.

Carol is survived by her children, Billy Simpson and wife Zella, Jeremy Simpson and wife Lana, Sarah Shoemaker and husband Josh; grandchildren, Sheila Simpson, Dahlia Simpson, Lexie Simpson, Bella Simpson, Jeremy Simpson Jr., Andrew Simpson, Courtlyn Ryker, Preston Simpson, Cameron Shoemaker, Mason Shoemaker, Aidan Shoemaker; siblings, Walter Moody and wife Ruth; Janet Moody; nephews and nieces, other family and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Barbara Moody; and aunt, Elsie Larson.

Visitation will be from noon until service time, Friday, December 29, 2023, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home, with burial at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
