Obituary

Claris Madlyn Wildermuth passed away, Monday, October 30, 2017.  She was born August 2, 1921 in Marshall County, IA.  Claris was the first daughter of Melvin and Wilma Ruff.

Claris attended rural school for 8 years and graduated from the Garwin, IA, high school in 1939.

She married Frederick Christian Wildermuth on February 29, 1940.  To this union two children Gloria Helen and Frederick Melvin were born.

They farmed near Coggon, Clutier and Marshalltown, IA.  They were married 60 years.

Claris was a member of the Willard Baptist Church and Willard Senior Citizen Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Wilma (Hall) Ruff, two brothers, Boyd Eugene and Neale La Verne Ruff, her husband, Frederick Christian and a grandson-in-law, Curtis Fleig.

Claris is survived by her daughter Gloria (Tommy) Mitchell of Le Grand, IA and son Frederick "Butch" (Sharon) Wildermuth of Willard, MO.  Her sister Wanda (Ruff) Hofer of Eldora, IA. Five grandchildren, Jolene (Mike) Salzwedel of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Beth Ann Tow of Le Grand, IA, Aaron (Shannon) Mitchell of Le Grand, IA, Brian (Angela) Wildermuth of Willard, MO and Dana Hyde of Willard, MO.  Great-grandchildren, Marcus and Kiersten Fleig of Mt. Pleasant, IA, McKenna and Caitlin Tow of Le Grand, IA, David (Irasema) Turk of Seattle, WA, Carrington (Brian) Stalzer of Marshalltown, IA, Tanner Mitchell of Le Grand, IA, Bruin, Ashton, and Gunner Wildermuth of Willard and Ethan, Emma, and Elaina Hyde of Willard, MO.  A great great grandchild, Natalya Turk of Seattle, WA.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO.  Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Willard First Baptist Church, Willard, MO.  Interment will be 10:00AM, Saturday, November 4, 2017 in Le Grand Friends Cemetery, Le Grand, IA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Willard First Baptist Church or Gideon Bible Ministry and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Ash Grove, MO 65604.
