Claude E. Todd, of Aldrich, departed this life on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in the Dade County Nursing Home at the age of 97.

He was born on March 26, 1920 to Eulas and Maude (Asbell) Todd in Dade County, MO.  On July 25, 1939 Claude and Mary Catherine (Frieze) were united in marriage and to this union six children were born.  Claude and Mary shared 78 wonderful years together.

Claude was a man of many talents.  He was a farmer, worked in the ASC office for 16 years, was a road engineer for Dade County Highway and a graduate of Draughon Business College.  Claude enjoyed college basketball, pheasant hunting, Cardinal baseball, and fishing.  He also enjoyed playing cards with his neighbors and entertaining a crowd. Claude was also active in the church.  He had served as an Elder for the Bona Church of Christ for many years.  He loved helping others and faithfully read his Bible every morning and evening. Claude cherished his family.  He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed the monthly family Sunday dinners.  Claude will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Claude is survived by his wife, Mary Todd of the home; six children, Donald Ray Todd of Walnut Grove, Ronald Rex Todd and wife Francis of Hollister, Bill "Rick" Todd and wife Jacque Todd of Aldrich, Connie Kay Fortner of Willard, Catherine Claudette Taylor and husband Philip of Springfield; Karen Lynn Stiles and husband Ricky of Dadeville; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Preceding him in death by his parents, Eulas and Maude; brother, Billy Todd and wife Lucille of St. Louis, sister, Mary Elizabeth Meeks and husband James; and granddaughter, Julie Taylor.

Visitation will be Friday, September 29, 2017 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO.  Funeral services will be Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00AM at Bona Church of Christ, Aldrich, MO with burial to follow in Bona Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fair Haven's Children's Home and/or St. Jude's Hospital and may left at the funeral home.
