Darrell "Gene" Tate

Darrell "Gene" Tate, 75, of Everton, MO, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 in Mercy Hospital Springfield, MO surrounded by his loving family. Gene was born July 15, 1940 to the late Theodore Tate and Irma Huffstetler Tate. On August 6, 1962, he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Waldron. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Melissa Ann Tate and several relatives and friends. Gene was employed as a welder and was a member of the local Union #36 Sheet Metal Workers, Springfield, MO and local Union #21 in Baton Rouge, LA. He attended Calvary Assembly of God Church. Gene enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but nothing compared to the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann Tate of the home, three daughters: Tedra Stafford and husband Pastor Blaine Stafford of MS, Lettie Giroir Holland and husband William and Daralene Tate Myers and husband Michael all of Everton, MO; ten grandchildren: Jerica Baker and husband Derek, Joshua Stafford, Nathan Stafford, Jennifer Giroir, Tony Giroir Jr, Stacy Holland and wife Sarah, Daryl Tate, Meghan Estes and husband Brad, Whitney Williams and husband Daniel, and Sarah Dill; seven great-grandchildren: Mya Baker, Bradon Holland, Ava Holland, William Dill, Henry Williams, Holland Williams, and Cash Estes; one aunt, Nellie Sue Tackett of AR, and numerous relatives and friends. Visitation will begin at 6 PM, Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Hopewell Baptist Church, south of Everton. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Hopewell Baptist Church with burial to follow in Ray Springs Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ray Springs Cemetery, for the upkeep of the cemetery and may be left at Wilson-Brim-Daniel Funeral Home.
