David William Ball, 78, of Walnut Grove, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018.

David was born on January 24, 1940 to Everett and Nora Mae (Hayes) Ball in Springfield, MO.  On March 3, 1973, David and Barbara (Swift) were united in marriage; together they shared over 45 years.

David served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska.  After his time in service he worked for General Electric for 25 years.  David loved being outdoors, whether it was taking his 3 mile walks, hunting morel mushrooms, or planting flowers for his beloved wife.  David loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.  He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

David is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; children, Diana Sheldon and husband Gary of Springfield, David Ball Jr. of Springfield; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a sister; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation under the direction of Wilson-Griffin Funeral Homes. Burial to be held at a later date.
