David Ray
Garver
April 27, 1962 – August 10, 2025
David Ray Garver, 63, of Everton, was born on April 27, 1962, in Japan to Ray Lee and Alma "Pat" (Alexander) Garver. He passed away on August 10, 2025, due to injuries from a traffic accident on May 2, 2024.
David graduated from Everton High School in 1982 and joined the United States Navy, following in his father's footsteps. After serving four years in the Navy, he pursued a career in truck driving, which he continued until the time of his accident. In September 1981, David married Tammy Sewell, and together they had three children: Brandon, Jennifer, and Derrick.
David had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing, and a strong love for music. He was self-taught in playing electric guitars and other instruments. His love for music was evident in his life. David cherished his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was saved and baptized during his time in the service.
David is survived by his children, Brandon Garver, Jennifer Countryman and husband Scott, Derrick Garver; his father, Ray Garver; his sisters, Janel Graves and husband Bobby, Tricia Garver; his brother, Steven Garver and wife Brigitte; and his grandchildren, Adella Brewer and husband Cory, Waylon and Reese Countryman, and Wyatt Garver; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pat Garver.
David will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Mt. Vernon Care Place for the care they provided to David.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Graveside services will be at 11:00AM on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Liberty Cemetery, Everton, MO.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Brain Injury Association of Missouri and may be left with the funeral home or donate online https://www.biamo.org/support-biamo/memorial-honorarium-tributes/
