Della May McGill, 87, of Walnut Grove, passed away, Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

Della the daughter of Cecil and Clara (Asbell) Rotrock, was born in Fair Play, MO, on June 13, 1930.  Della and Robert McGill were united in marriage on February 12, 1949 in a double wedding ceremony with her sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Billy Taylor.  Della and Robert shared over 47 years together before Robert's passing in 1996.

Della graduated from Fair Play High School in 1947.  From there, Della began working at Nifty Café, where she met the love of her life.  After Della and Robert were married she worked on the farm and raised their children.  Once her children were grown, she began working at Teters Floral Products were she worked as a designer for 18 years. Della belonged to Pleasant Ridge Baptist, but in later years, she attended Eudora Baptist and also enjoyed participating in activities at Dadeville Baptist. She loved gardening and always had a huge garden.  Della enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Della is survived by her son, Dennis McGill and wife Brenda of Walnut Grove; daughter, Paulette Blankenship of Bolivar; 5 grandsons, Curtis McGill and wife Charity of Dadeville, Brandon McGill and wife Laurie of Walnut Grove, Dustin McGill and wife Meryah of Nixa, Billy Blankenship and wife Tracy of Kimberling City, Bobby Blankenship and wife Corie of VA; 11 great grandchildren, Clint, Bailey, Aiden, Elliana McGill, Hollie and Cooper McGill, Bryce Elmore, Abi, Bryson, Eliana and Isabelle Blankenship and Trystan McGill, on the way; other family and many friends.

Della was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert McGill; sister, Phyllis June Taylor and husband Billy; brother, Ralph Rotrock; son-in-law, William Blankenship; and infant nephew, Larry Taylor.

There will be no formal family visitation, but she will lie in state Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, MO.  Graveside services will be Friday, December 1, 2017 at 1:30PM at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Aldrich, MO.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made, in Della's name, to Dadeville Athletic Booster Club, for the baseball field, and may be left at the funeral home.
