Dickie (Dick) Lee Stander, 97 of Springfield, passed away August 20, 2022. Dick was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 23, 1925, to Edward J. and Mildred (Gahr) Stander. On June 18, 1948, Dick and Francis Winnard were united in marriage and shared over 73 years together before Francis' passing earlier this year.

Dick loved the Lord and loved sharing about Him. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating but found that he would rather be standing downstream. Dick loved being outdoors. He had a garden and grew many vegetables including tomatoes, okra, and squash. Dick provided for his family from his garden, and he loved to share his harvest with others. Above all, Dick loved spending time with his family, especially George and his grandchildren.  He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of those that knew and loved him.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaNelle Stander; and sisters, Betty and Patsy.

Dick is survived by his son; George Stander; grandchildren, Shane, Jessi, Joshua, James, Chloe, Kyra; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and past co-workers.

Visitation will be 1:00PM-1:45PM, Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Graveside services will be 2:00PM, Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO.
