Donald Wayne Smith, 76 of Willard passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023. He was born on December 16, 1946, in Crossett, Arkansas to Thomas E. and Mallie (Ruth) Smith. On March 29, 1974, Donald and Marlene Sims were united in marriage and shared over 49 years together.

Donald faithfully served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He raised Missouri Fox Trotters for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, Pittsburg Steelers, and old country music. Donald also enjoyed spending time at American Legion-Brighton. Most of all Donald loved spending time with his family and his service dog, Taz. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. Smith and Mallie Ruth Norrell and brother, Thomas Lane Smith.

Donald is survived by his wife, Marlene Smith; children, Shawn Smith and wife Tammy, Padgett Smith; grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Brooke Smith, Paxton Smith, Brett Stofer; other family and many friends.

Memorial graveside service will be 1:00PM, Friday, June 16, 2023 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life from 2:30PM-4:30PM, Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Sertoma Building, 1538 S. Enterprise Ave, Springfield, MO 65804.
