Donald Lee Stewart, the son of Charles and Elsie (Thomas) Stewart, was born August 5, 1936, and passed away Wednesday April 26, 2016 at 1:20 p.m. in Magnolia Square Health Care Facility, Springfield, Mo. following an extended illness. His age was 79 years, 8 months and 11 days.

Don was born in Ash Grove, Mo. and grew up in the area. He attended Ash Grove Schools and graduated from Ash Grove High School in 1954.
Don entered the United States Army and served his country faithfully.
He was retired after 30 year of service with South Western Bell Company.

Donald L. Stewart and Julia "Edith" McGill were united in marriage, May 19 1962. To this union two daughters were born. Together, Don and Edith were privileged to share over 50 years. Edith preceded him in death, June 20, 2012. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Elsie and two brothers, Jim and Gene Stewart.

He is survived by his loving family: daughters: Jane Stewart of Dadeville and Beth and husband Matt Jones of Springfield, Mo. and
three grandchildren: Jesse Morefield, Molly and Brett Jones; three sisters: Mary Jo Cotter and Margaret Turk, of Springfield, Mo. and Ann Ackerman of Pensacola, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Ash Grove Cemetery with Rev. Tom Geer officiating with interment following. Military Honors will be held under the auspices of the Missouri Military "Honors" Team. Arrangements are under the care and
direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Mo.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Ash Grove Chapel.
