Donnie Sam Blakemore, 81, of Walnut Grove, passed away, on Thursday, April 6, 2017, in Mercy Hospital after battling a long illness.

Donnie the son of Sam and Nelline (White) Blakemore, was born in Walnut, MO, on December 14, 1935.  Donnie married Emily Delores Hughes on May 10, 1957, they enjoyed 59 years together.

Donnie was a life-long area resident.  He was a brick masonry contractor and a local dairy farmer.  He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Nelline Blakemore; and son, Donnie Richard

Donnie is survived by his wife, Emily Delores; sons, Franklin Blakemore, Todd Blakemore and wife Cindy, all of Walnut Grove; 3 grandchildren, Clayton Todd and fiancé Savanna, Ashley, Amber (Pug); 2 great grandchildren, David, Rilley; best friend, Killer; one special sister-in-law, Vi; special friends, Tim Turner, Carolyn and Marolyn; several cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 3:00PM, in the Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, MO.  Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
