Mrs. Doris Jean (Combs) Demore, 84 of Springfield, Mo. passed away Thursday evening, August 13, 2015 in The Manor at Elfindale, surrounded by her loving family.

Doris, the daughter of Worley B. and Celesta Elizabeth (Elliott) Combs was born February 12, 1931 near Republic, Mo. She grew in the Bois D' Arc and Halltown areas and was a longtime resident of Springfield. She graduated from Bois D' Arc High School in 1948. Doris was a retired Springfield Businesswoman and longtime member of the Springfield First Baptist Church.

Doris Jean Combs and James Hershel Demore were united in marriage July 9, 1950. To this union two children were born. Together Doris and Hershel were privileged to share 65 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and Hershal's two nieces Wanda and Linda.

Doris is survived by her husband, Hershel; son, Robert Demore and daughter, Dolores Demore and two grandsons: Ryan Lee and Blake James Demore; sister, Marjorie Perryman; Ash Grove and three nephews: Rick, Randy and Ronnie Perryman and their families; and Hershal's two nephews and niece.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Springfield, Mo. (525 South St.) with Rev. Michael Overton officiating with interment following in Yeakley Cemetery, west of Springfield, under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Mo.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home, Ash Grove, Mo.
