Doris May (Mayfield) Helzel, 81, of Stockton, passed away, Tuesday, October 29, 2019. She was born on May 24, 1938 in Trail, MO to James A. and Ada A. (Young) Mayfield.  Doris and William Helzel were united in marriage on December 7, 2011.

Doris loved the Lord. She enjoyed being outdoors in her flower garden and being with her chickens. Doris was also a talented painter, her walls were covered with her beautiful art. Above all, Doris enjoyed being with her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Doris is survived by her husband, William of the home; children, Allen Puckett of Marionville, Rachael Boettcher and husband Mike of KS, Shari Puckett of Cassville; grandchildren, Robert Rasar, Lisa Gregory, John Puckett; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Wilken, Ellis Mayfield and wife Trude, Lowell Mayfield and wife Betty, Bill Mayfield and wife Jan, Carol Goddard, Ann Sappington and husband Charles, Jeannie Gray and husband Tom, Fern Crumrine and husband Elwin; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; 2 infant sisters, Wanda Mayfield, Lela Mayfield; brother, James Mayfield; and sister, Ruby Gum.
Visitation will be from 1:00PM until service time, Monday, November 4, 2019 at Walnut Grove First Baptist Church, Walnut Grove, MO. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM, at the church, with burial to follow in Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, MO.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Doris' name to Hospice Compassus and may be left at the funeral home.
