Obituary

Gregory Douglas "Doug" Hosman, 65 of Walnut Grove died Thursday, June 18, 2020, suddenly at his home in Walnut Grove. Doug was born on October 6, 1954 in Chula Vista, California to Dink and Sybil Hosman. Doug moved to the Willard area at a young age and grew up there.

Doug was a dairy farmer for several years and a former employee of Mays Oil Company. His true passion was farming and there was nothing more gratifying to him then caring for his herd and cutting a full stand of alfalfa.

Doug married Fran Creed on September 4, 1995 and they shared 25 great years together. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Doug enjoyed farming, hunting, and riding motorcycles. He loved to travel to the beach and out West to visit cousins and always looked forward to his annual pheasant hunt. He loved drinking coffee and fellowshipping each morning with his friends. They gave him the nickname "Newspaper." If he didn't know the answer, he would find out and report back. Doug loved gathering with his friends and family on the weekends. He truly adored his family.

Doug was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, always willing to help anyone in need and he never met a stranger. Doug will be greatly missed by all his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Doug was a member of the Walnut Grove Masonic Lodge and Sac River Cowboy Church.

Doug is survived by his wife Fran of the home; daughters, Lorrie Johnson and husband Patrick, Leslie McGee; grandchildren, Savannah Bolin and husband Craig, Morgan Johnson, Payton Johnson, Joey McGee; great grandchildren, Raylan and Presley Bolin; sister Terri Hughes and husband Jimmy all of Walnut Grove, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie "Dink" and Sybil Hosman and brother, Tony Garber.

Masonic Services will begin at 2:00PM, Sunday, June 21, 2020, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 6:00PM at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM, Monday, June 22, 2020 at Sac River Cowboy Church Event Center.
