Doug Overholser, 71 of Ash Grove, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's. He was the son of William Overholser and Jean Overholser and was born on January 13, 1949 in Sioux City, Iowa. On May 4, 1985 Doug and Marsha were married and shared over 35 years together.

Doug was a member of Hillside Baptist church. He loved the Lord and his family and church family. And everyone loved Doug.

He enjoyed teaching, especially prophecy. Doug sang in the choir, taught young married classes and discipleship. He loved serving the Lord.

Doug liked farming, biking the MS 150, going to his children and grandchildren's sporting events and was a ham radio operator. He worked at A One Manufacturing Co. and became president before retiring.

Doug is survived by his wife, Marsha; sons, Jason Overholser and wife Amber, Jared Overholser and wife Nicole, daughter Jodi Smith and husband Todd; grandchildren, Monica, Jasey, Alexis, Case, Jake, Delaney, Tristin, Maddy, Chase; great grandchildren, Lincoln, Breckon; mother, Jean Overholser; sister, Jodi Overholser; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Doug is preceded in death by his father, William and grandson Jacob Overholser.

Doug was a good Christian, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, and brother. He was a hard worker and liked to kid. He had a wit about him and he didn't complain about his condition.  He was a soldier.

Memorial services will be 10:00AM, Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Hillside Baptist Church, Springfield, MO.
