Katherine Elizabeth Cummins, 89, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018.

Elizabeth, the daughter of Norman E. and Thelma (Crussell) Ridenour, was born in Blackwell, OK, on February 25, 1929. On January 22, 1948, Elizabeth married the love of her life, Lt. Col. Billy Jean Cummins. During 55 years together, four children were born.

Elizabeth, who grew up in the Walnut Grove area, was an army wife who with Jean and their family travelled around the world. She made many lifelong friends everywhere they lived. No matter where she lived, coming back to her extended family around Walnut Grove always meant coming home. Elizabeth was a homemaker, a mother, and a grandmother and always put her family first. Some of her most happy moments were when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were with her. They made many fond memories together.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Cindy Rodgers and husband Charles, and Margaret Cummins; her sons Billy Jon Cummins and wife Patricia, and Charlie Cummins and wife Catherine; Vicki Bouska Cummins; grandchildren, Jackie Rodgers, Monica Thompson and husband Brian, Michael Cummins, Louis Rousselle, Jean-Paul Rousselle, Katherine Cummins, Julia Marquardt and husband Michael, Rachael Cummins, Sara Cummins, Kayla Cummins, Kathleen Cummins, Jonathan Cummins; great-grandchildren, Owen, Elise and Will Marquardt; Knowle, Everett, Gillian and Fiona Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters Doris Hayter and Carolyn Ridenour.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2018, from noon-service time at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, MO. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 5, 2018, at 1:00PM, at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, MO.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Elizabeth's name to Alzheimer's Association and may be left at the funeral home.
