Ellen Hughes Stewart went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 2, 2021. She was born on February 10, 1923 in Bentonville, AR, the baby of eight children, to Josire and Nellie Yocom.

When she was 17, she married Paul Hughes and they shared over 47 years together, before Paul's passing. She was a stay-at-home mom until she became a widow, and then she began volunteering at Red Cross-Chapter 21 and several years at Cox Hospital North. It was while volunteering at the hospital, she met Glen Stewart, and they married. She and Glen shared many years together, before Glen passed away. Ellen was a loving mother and grandmother that loved her family dearly.

Preceding her in death are first husband, Paul Hughes; 2 sons, Alvin Hughes, Buddy Hughes; parents, Joe and Nellie Yocom; 4 brothers, 3 sisters; and second husband Glen Stewart.

Ellen is survived by one son, James Hughes and wife Linda; daughters-in-law, Patty Hughes, Alice Hughes; grandchildren, Jimmy Hughes, Mark Hughes, Cathy Walls, Dwayne Hughes, Lynn Dickerson, Matt and Angie, Steve Hughes, Amy Moore, Lacy Reid; 51 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, April 5, 2021 from 6:30PM-8:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO. Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Center Baptist Church, Ash Grove, MO with burial to follow in Wesley Cemetery, Willard, MO.
