Evelyn M. Beck, 94, of Ash Grove, MO passed away Friday, August 05, 2016. Evelyn was born April 20, 1922 in Mt. Vernon, MO, the daughter of W.M. Monroe and Clarice (Pennington) Duke.

She was united in marriage to Bobby N. Beck on March 29, 1942. Together, they were privileged to share 51 years. Bobby preceded her in death on November 23, 1993.

Evelyn was a member of Ash Grove First Baptist Church and always wanted to ensure the people she came in contact with knew Christ. She enjoyed walking, exercising her intelligent mind with word puzzles, and visiting with friends and family on the phone. Evelyn was an avid Cardinal baseball fan; she knew everything that was going on with the team and every player. She dearly loved her friends at the care center, but nothing compared to the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Evelyn served the Ash Grove community as tax collector for thirty years and had also been employed by the Commonwealth for several years.

Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Sherry Allen of San Francisco, California; one son, Michael Beck and wife Cynthia of Columbia, MO; one grandson, Brett Allen of Columbia, MO; twin granddaughters, Jill Williams of Columbia, MO, and Jodi Mendieta and husband Chris of San Francisco, California; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Bonnie Barker and Janet Windsor, both of Springfield, and Maxine Bershers of Marrionville, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home in Ash Grove, MO. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, August 8, 2016 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Ash Grove City Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Ash Grove Care Center or Ash Grove First Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
