Obituary

Flossie Jane Tucker, 95, of Walnut Grove, entered her Heavenly Home on Monday, June 28, 2021. She was born January 26, 1926, to John and Allie (Gates) Clark in Hartville, Missouri.  She was the youngest of three girls. Flossie Clark was united in marriage to Donald Tucker on March 27, 1948.  They were blessed with five children.

Flossie grew up in the Hartville area, and attended a local school until the eighth grade.  Flossie moved to Springfield in 1945 where she worked at the Springfield Garment Factory.  In the early 1950's, Flossie and her husband moved to the Walnut Grove area where she resided until her homegoing.  Flossie enjoyed gardening and working with her livestock.  Most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren.

Flossie was known by her smile and love for people.  She worked as a hostess and baker for over 25 years at First Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri where she retired. After retirement, she worked at Grant's Restaurant as a cook and baker in Ash Grove.  She touched the lives of many and planted seeds of encouragement with the joy and love of Christ.

Flossie Tucker became a member of High Street Baptist Church under Dr. W.E. Dowell in 1952 where she taught Sunday School in the girl's primary department and helped in various capacities.  During the last years of her life, Flossie Tucker joined Hillside Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member of Hillside Baptist Church, Springfield.

Flossie Tucker is survived by five children, Donna Tucker, Walnut Grove, Missouri; John Tucker, his wife Caroll of Blue Springs, Missouri; David Tucker and his wife Terry of Garden City; Martha (Tucker) Eagleburger Baucom of Springfield, Missouri; and Mary (Tucker) Joyce and her husband Charles of Burkina Faso, West Africa; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; other family and many friends.

Flossie Tucker is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her father and mother, John and Allie Clark, her sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Johnny Patterson; her sister, Florence Pierce; and her grandsons, Ryan Tucker and Kevin Eagleburger.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Hillside Baptist Church, 8366 W. State Hwy 266, Springfield, MO 65802. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM at Hillside Baptist Church with graveside burial at Greene Lawn Cemetery at Walnut Grove.
