Fonda Raeliene (Swann) McMillen, 81, of Walnut Grove, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022.

Fonda, the daughter of Ralph and Evelyn (King) Swann, was born in Olney, TX, on July 4, 1941. Fonda and Jerald "JL" McMillen were united in marriage on December 26, 1960. They shared almost 53 years together before JL's passing in 2013.

Fonda and JL were licensed foster parents with the Greene County Foster Home Program. They provided love and structure to 34 children from 1970 - 2000. Fonda was also a social worker for St. Johns Hospital for over 30 years. She was an active member of Springfield SDA Church since moving to the area in 1948. Fonda loved being a host and cooking for her family, church, and benefit auctions where her blackberry cobblers were always a hit. She enjoyed being outdoors on her farm; taking long walks, tending to her chickens, planting gardens and loved the harvest. Fonda was also an artist and taught painting classes for many years. Fonda loved collecting antique treasures and traveling with JL, especially their yearly trips to Hawaii. Fonda will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Fonda is survived by her children, Trent McMillen and wife Mary, Tonya Boone and husband Gary; grandchildren, Ryder Boone, Ashton, Grant, Rhett, Tanner, and Landon McMillen; cousin, Darwin Helmer; other family and friends.

Fonda was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Evelyn Swann; husband, JL McMillen; and sister, Darwena Kerkhoff.

Graveside services will be at 1:00PM, Friday, November 4, 2022 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Willard, MO
