Frieda Lea Guy, 85 of Willard, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2026. She was born on November 15, 1940, to William Ray and Verna Lea (Hurd) McCroskey. On June 5, 1959, Frieda and Orville Guy were united in marriage and shared over 55 years together, before Orville’s passing in 2014. Frieda was saved at the age of 8 and loved her church and serving the Lord. She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, where she volunteered at church camps, taught Bible classes, and enjoyed singing. She graduated from Marion C. Early in 1959, where she was band majorette her senior year and also participated in volleyball.
Frieda enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart’s ministry and the Cowboy Channel, as well as rodeos and country music. She loved going to antique and flea markets, going out to eat, and coloring. McDonald’s was part of her daily routine, where she enjoyed breakfast each morning. Frieda made it a point to call her family every day to check on them. Most all, she loved being a mom and grandma, and her family was always her greatest joy.
Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lea McCroskey; husband, Orville Guy; and baby sister, Luetta McCroskey.
Frieda is survived by children, Rick Guy and wife Dawn, Vicky Cooksey and husband Kevin; two granddaughters, Jessica Schultz and husband Aaron, Jacklynn Blasi and husband Matthew; great grandchildren, Alexander Patrick, Madison Patrick, David Schultz, Sawyer Schultz, Lana Blasi, and Lucy Blasi, along with other family and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00PM-6:30PM, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove.
