Harlan Dalton, 81, of Ash Grove, passed away, on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

Harlan the son of John and Velma (Yancy) Dalton, was born in Everton, MO, on March 4, 1936. Harlan and Vera (Thompson) were married on August 1, 1959, they were privileged to share almost 58 years together.

Harlan faithfully served his beloved country and retired from the United States Army. He was proud of his country and proud to be an American.  After his retirement Harlan went on to become a gifted tool and die maker.  Harlan was exceptional with making things with his hands whether it was wood or metal, he could create just about anything.  He also enjoyed being a gunsmith, fishing, and quail hunting in Texas.  Harlan enjoyed his family most of all, especially his grandchildren.

Harlan is survived by his wife, Vera of the home; two daughters, Liz Langley and husband Ted Serafy of CO, Erin Arico and husband Mike of Springfield; grandchildren, Emily Arico of Kansas City, Abby Millingar and husband Lucas of Springfield; sister, Nola Joyce O'Quinn and husband Ward of Walnut Grove; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Harlan was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Albert Dalton; and a sister, Blanche Naomi Bentz.

Visitation will be Friday, June 30, 2017 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO.  Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the funeral home with burial to follow in John's Chapel Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Heart Association or Disabled American Veterans and may be left at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home.
