Obituary

Many are intelligent; few are kind.

A man who is both is quite the rare find.

Kevin was a very good man who helped many people in his own quiet way. He loved his boys, and his life, and his yard. When he was a boy and someone was moving away from Lawrenceburg, he said, "Why would anybody want to leave Lawrenceburg?" Not long ago, he said "Why would anyone want to leave here--this is nirvana."  He left Lawrenceburg today doing what he loved--working on his yard.

He was a rock for all of us.  He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Beth, whose mother once said Beth couldn't form a sentence without the word Kevin in it. As he once told someone, they were intertwined. He is also survived by his sons who looked up to him so much, Joe Bailey Hurst, Springfield and John Thomas Hurst, Lawrenceburg; sister and her husband, Linda and Dan Ditzler, Mt. Vernon; brother and his wife, Kent and Melody Hurst, Lawrenceburg; and many nieces and nephews he enjoyed.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Allison Hurst and Eloise Campbell Hurst, and his brothers Joe Quinn Hurst and Brent Hurst.

Due to the pandemic, the family will have a private graveside service at John's Chapel Cemetery.
