James L. Malicoat, 84 of Nixa, passed away, April 20, 2023. He was born December 26, 1938, in Ash Grove, Missouri to George and Jewell (Smith) Malicoat. In 1957 James and Vivian Vandergrift were united in marriage and shared over 64 years together, before Vivian passed away in 2021.

James was a carpenter by trade, but enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing pool. He also enjoyed old cars and going to car shows, you could often find him on Friday evenings, on Kearney Street, watching all the old cars drive by. James was a stern father, but his family was his entire world. He made great sacrifices and his daily actions showed love to them all. Fly to heaven Blue Boy, your journey is finished.

James is survived by his children, James A. Mailcoat, Paula Bussard, Eric Malicoat and wife Shelly, Paul Malicoat and wife Renea; grandchildren, Cory, Halee, Erin, Erica, Brittany, Misty, Kendra, Ashley; great grandchildren, Cruz, Shaylyn, Alana, Landon, Hannah, Kaden, Isaiah, Gabe, Zachary, Tyler; great-great grandchildren, Jett and Tucker; siblings, Loretta, Anna, Elmer; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends..

James was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jewell Malicoat; wife Vivian; son-in-law, Everett Bussard; and many siblings.

Graveside services will be 11:00AM, Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO
