Jean Kathryn (Crussell) Richter, 91 of Ash Grove, Missouri, passed away Friday evening, October 9, 2015 at 9 p.m. in the Ash Grove Health Care Center, following an extended illness.
Jean, the daughter of George D. And Helen (Kelley) Crussell, was born on January 4, 1924, near Walnut Grove, Missouri. She grew up in the Walnut Grove community and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1941. She was a longtime resident of the Ash Grove area. Jean was a homemaker and longtime member of the Center Baptist Church. She and her late husband Charles, loved to square dance and in later years enjoyed going pheasant hunting in Kansas.
Jean K. Crussell and Charles L. Richter were united in marriage on May 1, 1943. To this union a daughter was born. Together they were privileged to share over 46 years. Charles preceded her in death on October 31, 1989. Also preceding her were her parents and nephew Danny Richter.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Richter of Ash Grove; two sisters, June Richter of Bois D' Arc, Missouri and Shirley Christian of Walnut Grove, Missouri; three nieces; a nephew; ten great-nieces and nephews; and eighteen great-great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 2 p.m. in Wilson Brim Daniel Chapel, Ash Grove, with Rev. Mitch Fisher and Dr. Bob Marti officiating with interment in Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 1 p.m. until service time in the funeral home chapel.
