Jerry W. Crowder, 83, of Bois D'Arc, passed away in his home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, May 18, 2020.

Jerry, the son of Nathan and Jesse (VanHooser) Crowder, was born in Springfield, MO, on May 14, 1937. On January 19, 1962, Jerry and Imogene were united in marriage, they shared over 58 years together.

Jerry was a life-long area resident and member of Bois D' Arc Baptist Church. His family describe him being a God fearing, hardworking, inventive, storytelling, jokester who liked to make silly faces, write silly songs and liked to laugh. He also liked to give nick names and had a few of his own. His dad always called him "Cheese," at the shop he was called "Trader Horn," and his very favorite, he was known by all as "Papa." Jerry enjoyed going to garage sales, reading, especially Louis L'Amour, John Wayne Westerns, playing his guitar and singing with his family. Jerry adored his family. He was fiercely protective and very proud of his grandchildren. He loved everyone getting together for family game night and enjoyed Chris' homemade pizza, strawberry ice cream and Diet Dr. Pepper. It all comes back to Papa loved his Mimi.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Imogene Crowder of the home; daughters, Christine Courtney and husband Rick of Springfield, Renae Leslie and husband Shawn of IN; grandchildren, Lindsay Singleton and husband Daniel, Jacob Watson and fiancée Liz, Dakota Watson, Kenadee Leslie, Holden Leslie, McKinley Leslie, Madalyn Leslie, Beckett Leslie, and Ryker Leslie; great granddaughter, Lilly Singleton; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 5 sisters.

Graveside services will be 10:00AM, Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Sinking Creek Cemetery, Everton, MO.
