Jerry Lee McKinney, 82, of Springfield passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023. He was born January 10, 1941, in Ash Grove, MO to Lettie Louise Brooks. On June 20, 1987, Jerry and Tela Sartin were united in marriage and would have celebrated 36 years this week.

Jerry was baptized and accepted Jesus into his life at a young age. He was a 1959 graduate of Ash Grove High School and served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. Jerry worked in the grocery business his entire life. He began his grocery career in 1959. Working his way up through management in every store he worked at, including E&H Market, Harrison's Market, Ralph Brown's Market, Schnuck's, Consumers Market, Harter House and Hiland Dairy, when he finally decided to retire at the age of 78. Jerry loved bowling, golf, Nascar, Lady Bears Basketball, St. Louis Cardinals, Country music, Diet Dr. Pepper and a good burger. However, he loved nothing more than his family and spending time with them.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Tarrant and brother, Bill Brooks.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Tela McKinney; children, Keri Peters and husband Carter, Ryan Rounsavill and wife Cathey, Tela Rounsavill; grandchildren, Katelin Kelley and husband Robert, Zach Peters, Amber Doyle, Jeremiah Doyle, Christian Rounsavill; great grandchildren, Avery Kelley, Malachi Carter; cousin, Mack Moore and wife Joann; other family and many friends.

Visitation will be 10:00AM until service time, Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Ash Grove Cemetery.
