Jerry Lynn Parrish was born July 1, 1946 in Walnut Grove, MO to Marion and Wilma Parrish. He passed away peacefully in his home with his loved ones by his side on July 3, 2016 at the age of 70 years and 2 days after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jerry served in the United States Army Reserves for 4 years after graduating high school. Jerry retired in 2009 from City Wide Ready Mix where he worked as a truck driver for 23 years.

Jerry married Cheryl Smith in 1998 combining their 2 families and sharing their love of each other.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, brother Eddie, mother and father in law Sam and Gertrude Woods and good friend Mike McVay.

Jerry is survived by his wife Cheryl of the home, his children, Jerry Lee Parrish, Lisa Parrish Sugrue and husband Dan, Amber Parrish Horton and husband Travis, Joseph Smith and Kimberly, Bradley Smith and Karin, and Brian Smith and wife Heather. One brother Larry Parrish and wife Shari, brother in laws Joe King and wife Virginia, Less King, Robert Woods, sister in laws Sandy Lawson and husband Eric, Candie White and husband Danny, who was also Jerry's best friend since the age of 6. Jerry loved Danny as a brother. He is also survived by 7 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter, 1 great grandson, 3 aunts and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Jerry loved his family and friends and having a good time telling stories about Danny, Mike and him when they were growing up. He loved riding his horses and mules and driving his ponies. He lied sitting on the patio and talking and having our family get together and having a good time. Most of all he was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM, Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Wilson-Brim-Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00PM, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the funeral home.
