On June 26, 2016, Joan Lee (Clark) Gilchrist passed away in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 75. She built her life upon the cornerstones of family, faith, art, and candor. Joan was born in 1941 to John and Ella May Clark of Boulder, Colorado. She is survived by her siblings Sylvia and husband George Counas, Longmont, CO; John and wife Betty Clark, Haines, OR; Ron and wife Bobbie Scruggs, Mechanicsville, VA; and J.L. and wife Gwen Scruggs, Krizer, OR.
Joan relished her role as a wife and mother. Her living legacy includes husband of 51 years Robert Gilchrist of Willard, MO and three sons – Tracy and wife Stephanie Gilchrist of Lakewood, CO; Todd Gilchrist and wife Stacey Baca of Brighton, CO; and Timothy and wife Carol Gilchrist of Vernon Hills, IL. Her three beautiful grandchildren are Elias Gilchrist of Lakewood, CO; Megan Gilchrist of Vernon Hills, IL; and Mandy Gilchrist of Vernon Hills, IL.
A community visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 7, 2016 (5-7 PM) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 320 W Jackson St, Willard, MO. The family will hold a private service on Friday, July 8, 2016 at The Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to Lift-Up Springfield. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
