Joan Rae Ruth 86, of Bois D'Arc, MO, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was born July 31, 1938, in St. Louis, MO, to Ray and Imogene (Dunn) McCulloh.

Joan's mission field was her family. A true matriarch and prayer warrior, Joan never hesitated to help those in need, often "adopting" strangers as "grandchildren" or "children" upon their first meeting. Joan was also a gifted cook. Among her many cherished recipes, the family's most loved was her famous chicken and dumplings—a dish that has become a treasured family tradition. Joan also had a lifelong love for gardening. She took great pride in maintaining a beautiful yard and often earned the honor of "Yard of the Month" in her neighborhood. Joan loved her family deeply, and her greatest joy came from time spent with those she loved. Above all, Joan loved the Lord and would speak of His love and faithfulness to all who would listen- a mantle she has passed down through the generations.

Joan is survived by sons, Michael Arthur and Jeff (Charlyce) Ruth; granddaughter, Jade (Josiah) Cloud; and great grandsons, Matthew and Jerimiah Burgess; sister, Jolene Bixler; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Imogene McCulloh; brother-in-law Cordell Bixler; and many friends.

Visitation will begin at 1:00PM, Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home in Ash Grove, MO, followed by the funeral service at 2:00PM. The burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield, MO immediately following the service.
