Joe W. Grantham, of Walnut Grove, departed this life on Monday, January 29, 2018, at the age of 90.

Joe was born on October 5, 1927 to Ben and Fern (Swink) Grantham, in Walnut Grove, MO.  On August 14, 1949, Joe and Lois (Creed) were united in marriage; together they shared over 68 years together.

Joe faithfully served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.  After serving, he went on to college and graduated from SMS in 1960.  Joe retired after working as a rural mail carrier for 29 years.  Joe was a member of First Christian Church for over 65 years where he served as an Elder and Sunday School teacher.  He enjoyed farming, gardening, and being outdoors.  He especially loved his time at Stockton Lake with his family where they camped, boated, and water skied.  Joe was often the last of the day to ski and skied until the sunset.  He also loved to travel with his family.  Joe traveled to 49 states, but he couldn't remember the one he missed.  To Joe, family was so important and making time for one another was a must.  He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Joe is survived by his wife, Lois Grantham of the home; 3 children, Tommy Joe Grantham and wife Susan of Republic, Deborah Cox and husband Larry of Ash Grove, Lisa Kelley and husband Jerry of Walnut Grove; 7 grandchildren, Ben Grantham, Ashley McCord and husband Ray, Duane Cox, Tonya Peck and husband Matt, Kyle Cox and wife Amanda, Jeremy Kelley and wife Anna, Kaleigh Kelley and fiancé Parviz; 9 great grandchildren, Myles, Ronan, Kynlee, Karis, Creed, Jared, Colson, Grant, May; brother, Gordon Grantham and wife Joan of Walnut Grove; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, MO.  Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 10:30AM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, MO with burial to follow in Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, MO.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Christian Church Mission Fund or Intrepid Hospice Care and may be left at the funeral home.
