Obituary

Joe Bill Long, 65 of Aldrich, Mo. passed away on Tuesday morning, May 12, 2015 in his home following a short illness.

Joe Bill, the son of Alonzo C. and Helen M. Long was born July 21, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri. He grew up in the Willard, Mo. area and attended Willard Schools. He was an avid fisherman and owned and operated Catch'Em All Bait and Tackle on Turkey Creek, Stockton Lake. He also made and sold his own line of fishing lures to former customers and family until his death.

He loved his Harley Davidson and made many close friends riding and enjoyed his customers from the bait shop. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era.

Joe Bill and Maureen were united in marriage on June 29, 1981. Together they were privileged to share 34 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles Long of Dunnegan, Mo.

Joe's brother Steve and wife Pat were his inspiration to re-dedicate his life to Christ. He was a member of the Walnut Grove First Baptist Church. We know we will see him again Heaven.

He is survived by his loving family: wife, Maureen, the love of his life; his two dogs: Bear and Tuffy all of the Aldrich home; two brothers: Donald L. and wife Kathy Long of Halltown, Mo. and Steven Long and wife Pat of Willard; two sisters: Eliz and husband Roger Beard of Republic, Mo. and Carolyn and husband Curt Harralson of Billings, Mo.; his children: Tami (Noe) and husband Jim Garner of Weiser, Idaho, Clint and wife Chris Noe of Willard, Mo. (whom he raised as his own), Leslie Joe (Cotter) Long, James A. (Cotter) Long and Wendy M. (Cotter) Long; many grandchildren including a special granddaughter Alyshia Greene aka (Punkin) and grandson, Delton Green; many nieces and nephews, including Mike, Mark, Justin and Christian, who were his fishing buddies, along with uncle Don (Joe's brother).

Memorial services for Joe will be held Friday afternoon, May 15, at 2:00 p.m. in Wilson Brim Daniel Chapel, Walnut Grove, Mo. with Rev.
Nolan Carrier officiating. At his request he will be cremated and his cremains and the cremains of his beloved dog,Spunky will be placed with Maureen at her passing and will interred in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery , near Willard, Mo.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service on Friday May 15, 2015 in the Walnut Grove Chapel.
