John Richard Dennis, 86, of Willard, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017.

John, the son of Joseph Oral and Minnie K. (Fruin) Dennis, was born in Meadville, MO, on November 6, 1930.  On December 21, 1956, John and Bess (Wilson) were united in marriage. They were privileged to share over 60 years together.

John adored his family and loved being with them.  John especially loved his time with his grandson and great grandchildren.   He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

John is survived by his wife, Bess Dennis of the home; daughter, Denise Uptegrove and husband Thad of Fair Play; grandson, J.T. Uptegrove and wife Joni of Walnut Grove; great grandchildren, Wilder John Uptegrove, Wren Wray Uptegrove; one sister, Betty Nunn and husband Ray of Blue Springs; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Gerald Stambach, Max Stambach, Joe Dennis, Jack Dennis; one sister, Margaurite Brock.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO.
