Johnny L. Hayter, the son of Howard and Lola Holman Hayter, was born September 9, 1931 and passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016.

Johnny L. Hayter and Clara Belle Hawkins were united in marriage on March 7, 1951. To this union four children were born. Together, Clara and Johnny were privileged to share over 63 years.

Johnny was born in Walnut Grove, MO and grew up in the area. Johnny was a farmer and retired from Mid-Am in September 1993, after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Walnut Grove First Baptist Church. Johnny enjoyed growing corn and tomatoes and he also enjoyed watching Walnut Grove basketball games. More than anything, Johnny enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Kenny Hayter and Ronnie Hayter both of Walnut Grove, MO; two daughters Dianne Ivey, of Springfield, MO and Pam Hayter, of Willard, MO; eight grandchildren; and eleven Great Grandchildren; one brother, Billy Hayter and wife Charlotte of Walnut Grove, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and many friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, two brothers, a sister and son-in-law.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2:00- 3:30PM, in the Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, MO. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:30AM in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Aldrich, MO with Rev. Scotty Killingsworth officiating.
