Karen J. Spencer Herren 60, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026. She was born October 17, 1965, in Springfield, MO to Richard Harold and Oma Grace (Ware) Spencer.

Karen worked as a medication technician and certified nursing assistant in Springfield, Missouri, where she enjoyed caring for others. When she was no longer able to work, she continued to serve through volunteering. She generously gave her time at Cox North Hospital, participated in her church's puppet ministry and food pantry, and enjoyed serving as a camp counselor at the special-needs camp in El Dorado Springs. Karen was a faithful member of Praise Fellowship in Springfield.

Karen loved arranging flowers, mowing the yard, listening to music, watching movies and television, and spending time with animals, especially her cats. She also enjoyed board games and had quite the competitive spirit. Karen appreciated the simple things in life and found joy in everyday moments, leaving behind memories of kindness, service, and quiet contentment- even in the very end- as she was an organ donor.

Karen is survived by her siblings, Mike Spencer and wife Krisiti, Sharon Long and husband Terry; 7 nieces and nephews; 6 great nieces and nephews; her beloved dog, Daisy other family and friends.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Grace Spencer.

Visitation will be 10:00AM until service time, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Celebration of Life services will begin at 11:00AM, at the funeral home. In honor of Karen’s bright and quirky personality, the family requests that you wear your bright outfight to celebrate Karen on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Praise Fellowship, Springfield, MO and may be left with the funeral home.
