Katy L. Crain, 81 of Walnut Grove, passed away August 23, 2026. She was born on October 1, 1944, in Polk County, Missouri, to Wilbur Leon and Anna (Sharp) Holman. On August 31, 1966, Katy Holman and Raymond Crain were united in marriage and shared almost 60 years together.
Katy was active in her community, serving on the Polk County Farm Bureau Board, as secretary-treasurer for the Auxiliary of the Missouri Rural Letter Carriers Association, as a Polk County election worker, and on the Polk County Republican Central Committee representing Jackson Township.
She was known for her delicious pie crusts, especially her coconut cream and custard pies, and never passed up a Coca-Cola. She enjoyed fishing for suckers on the Niangua River below Bennett Springs, attending ball games, and was a longtime season ticket holder for the Missouri State Lady Bears basketball team.
Katy was a devoted “Nana” who rarely missed a ball game, school event, or special occasion involving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching them grow and was always their biggest cheerleader. Above all, she treasured her family and the many memories made together.
Katy is survived by her husband, Raymond; daughters, Valerie Noblitt and husband Paul, Kimberly Brannon and husband Rob; grandchildren, Zachary (Sara), Austin, Markus (Courtney), Jacob (Cindi), Hannah (Josh), Bryce (Hanna); great grandchildren, Corbin, Rhea, Ella, Lizzie, Mila, Theo, Salem Kate, Aubrey, Daisy, Elliott, and one on the way; brother, Robert “Butch” Holman; brother-in-law, Gene Crain and wife Karen; sister-in-law, Janice Cooper; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.
Katy is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Anna Holman; brother, David Holman and wife Kay; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ira and Vivian Crain.
Visitation will be 5:00PM-7:00PM, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove. Funeral services will be 11:00AM, Friday, August 28, 2026, at Eudora Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Eudora Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to MORLCA Auxiliary (Missouri Rural Letter Carriers Association) for a scholarship established in Katy’s name.
