LaQuetta F. Sewell, 85, of Everton, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019.

LaQuetta, the daughter of Denzil A. and Alma E. (Brooks) Weichold, was born on April 29, 1934 in Everton, MO. On April 11, 1954, LaQuetta and James "Jim" E. Sewell were married and shared over 39 years together, before James passed away in 1993.

LaQuetta is a lifelong area resident of Everton and taught for 45 years for Everton schools. She lived on the same farm for over 6o years. LaQuetta was a member of the Everton Community Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Everton Saddle Club, and Jolly Homemakers Club. LaQuetta enjoyed reading, gardening, painting, cake decorating, and traveling. She was known for her blackberry cobbler and homemade ice-cream. LaQuetta loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

LaQuetta is survived by her daughters, Teresa Melton and husband Greg, Tammy Garver and husband David all of Everton; 5 grandchildren, Brandon Garver, Jennifer Countryman and husband Scott, Derrick Garver, Melanie Longanecker and husband Lucas, Cheyanne Melton; 5 great grandchildren, Adella Countryman, Waylon Countryman, Reese Countryman, Wyatt Garver, Lane Longanecker; 2 sisters, Loreva Wilson of Everton, LaVonda Hamilton and husband Ken of CO; several cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

LaQuetta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; grandson, Christopher Davis; and brother, Harvey "Smokey" Weichold.

Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2019 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10:00AM at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Sinking Creek Cemetery, Everton, MO.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in LaQuetta's name to Everton Community Church and may be left at the funeral home.
