Larry Boyd, 79 of Walnut Grove passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, in Mercy Hospital of a sudden illness. Larry was born in Springfield, MO on September 25, 1942, to Robert C. and Wilma (Perryman) Boyd. He was a lifelong resident of Walnut Grove. On June 7, 1963, Larry married Jo Boggs and to this union 3 children were born.

Larry retired as Plant Manager of Mid-America Dairy, Springfield, MO, after 35 years of service. He was a wonderful husband, daddy, and papa. His family loved him more than words and he loved them the same. Family time was what he enjoyed most in life. Larry enjoyed his trips to NASCAR races with his buddies and spending time on the farm. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. He was a 1960 graduate of Walnut Grove High School. He was a member of Walnut Grove First Baptist Church and the O'Sullivan Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. He had received his 50-year membership pin.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wilma Boyd.

Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jo Boyd of the home; children, Jana Hyden and husband Terry of Walnut Grove, Michele Thomazin and husband Brock of Willard, Rodney Boyd and wife Felicia of Springfield; grandchildren, Ty Hyden, Hunter and Jordan Reilly, Blake and Logan Thomazin, Stella and Kingston Boyd; 2 great granddaughters, Alex Jo and Devan Reilly and his extended family Hayter/Boggs.

A public Masonic service will begin at 5:00PM, Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, with visitation to immediately follow until 8:00PM. Funeral services will be 10:30AM, Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove or St. Jude's Research Hospital and may be left at the funeral home.
