Larry Grant, 87, of Ash Grove, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

Larry was born on October 4, 1931 to Wilbur Francis and Mary Aileen (Berry) Grant, in Everton, MO. On September 12, 1951, Larry and Helen Fortner were united in marriage, they shared over 67 years together.

Larry was born and raised in the Everton area. After graduation Larry went into the United States Marine Corp and faithfully served his country during the Korean War. Larry was part of the Frozen Chosin. After his time in the military, he began his 34 year career, at TWA as a maintenance instructor and inspector. Larry was an outdoorsman; he loved camping, fishing and hunting. He worked hard around the house and took pride in his well-maintained yard. He also loved spending time with his family, especially when he could combine that time, with outdoor activities, like bicycling. Larry was an active member of South Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty, MO. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Larry is survived by his wife, Helen of the home; daughter, Karin Lyons of Kansas City; brothers, Stanley Grant and wife Ruth of Ash Grove, Jim Grant and wife Irma of Kansas City; sisters, Mary Frances Welsh of AK, Jane Grant of CA; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Larry was preceded in death by brothers, Morris Grant and Bill Wayne Grant.

Visitation will be Monday, November 19, 2018 from noon until service time at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM, Monday, November 19, 2018 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO.
