Mark E. Brooks, 56, of Springfield, MO passed away Thursday, September 01, 2016. Mark was born September 12, 1959 in Springfield, MO, the son of Harry Edward Brooks and Barbara Ann (Little) Brooks.

He was united in marriage to Deborah Fletcher on December 11, 1981. Together, they were privileged to share 34 years.

Mark had been a truck driver and Greene County Deputy Sheriff, but most recently he had his favorite job of being the caretaker of his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and growing large watermelons. His largest watermelon weighed in at almost 150 lbs. Mark also enjoyed working on Hot Rods, with his son Aaron. He loved every minute he spent with his family.

Mark is survived by his wife, Deborah, of the home; one son, Aaron Brooks and wife Kyla of Springfield, MO; one daughter, Nicole Clayton and husband Curtis of Licking, MO; two grandchildren, Keegan Frank and Rhett Clayton, both of Licking, MO; one sister, Debbie Riffel of Springfield, MO; several cousins, nieces, and many friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Willard, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, September 5, 2016 in the Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and may be left at the funeral home.
